The ICT INOV webinar "
Unveiling Educational Robotics: Design and Deployment of an Open-Source Programmable Bot" presented by Dr Alden Meirzhanovich Dochshanov, Scientific Coordinator at the multidisciplinary research centre EU-Track, focused on an article exploring the widespread use of open-source electronics and 3D prototyping platforms in educational robotics.
Specifically, the process of designing and implementing a simple Arduino-based robot was presented, with a particular emphasis on exposing the underlying basic principles. Educational challenges in providing accessibility without obscuring the complexity of robotics were addressed.
Throughout the presentation, the bot’s design, its practical implementation, and how its programmability aids in understanding the fundamentals of robotics were presented.
Finally, results were shared, highlighting successes in making basic principles accessible, and a discussion on the educational implications of this approach followed.
